ISSUE:  Consideration of a resolution to authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement to finalize a proposed donation of a scoreboard and installation at the Lee Center Miracle Field.

 

RECOMMENDATION:  That City Council approve the proposed resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement and other documents, if necessary, to finalize donation of a scoreboard from The Miracle League of Alexandria.

 

DISCUSSION:  The Miracle League of Alexandria will purchase and install a scoreboard at the Kelley Cares Miracle Field for supporting recreation and sports for individuals with special needs. The Miracle League of Alexandria will enhance the experience for players in the Miracle League as well as other groups who use the field.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:  None. The scoreboard will be paid for by the Miracle League and installation, permitting, and supplies will be provided pro bono by the Simpson Development Company. The scoreboard is valued at approximately $53,000.
