RECOMMENDATION:  That City Council approve a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement and other documents, if necessary, to finalize a bequest from the Anna Leider estate to the Office of Historic Alexandria.

DISCUSSION: The City of Alexandria, along with the Holocaust Museum, are the beneficiaries of a bequest from the estate of Anna Leider. The will designates the disbursements to be used for the Office of Historic Alexandria. OHA and the Holocaust Museum are the beneficiaries of the estate.

FISCAL IMPACT:  The estate is still in the process of being settled and the City will receive a share of the estate’s residue estimated around $500,000. The will states that the bequest is for OHA’s special revenue fund without diminution by the City of its normal funding level.
