ISSUE: Consideration of authorization for the City Manager to execute a Docking Agreement with the Pride of Baltimore, Inc. to dock the Tall Ship Pride of Baltimore II at the City Marina from Friday, October 21 through Monday, October 24 and waive associated docking fees.

RECOMMENDATION: That City Council authorize the City Manager to execute the Docking Agreement with the Pride of Baltimore, Inc. to dock the Tall Ship Pride of Baltimore II at the City Marina from Friday, October 21 through Monday, October 24 and waive associated docking fees (Attachment).

BACKGROUND: The Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities received a docking request from the Pride of Baltimore, Inc. and the National Park Service to dock the Tall Ship Pride of Baltimore II from Friday, October 21 through Monday, October 24.

In 1975, the City of Baltimore adopted proposal for the construction of a replica sailing vessel as the centerpiece of its Inner Harbor revitalization efforts. An iconic clipper ship was chosen because of the pivotal role Baltimore privateer vessels played in the War of 1812.
