Consideration of Adoption of “All Alexandria: Committing to Race and Social Equity” Resolution.

ISSUE: Proposed race and social equity initiatives of the City of Alexandria.
RECOMMENDATION: That City Council receive the attached resolution “All Alexandria Committing to Race and Social Equity”, discuss this proposed resolution, and set it for public hearing and adoption on January 23, 2021.
DISCUSSION: Race and Social Equity Officer, Jaqueline Tucker, will present the attached community-based resolution to City Council for discussion prior to its being docketed for public hearing on January 23. Discussion of the inclusivity of the creation process as well as the key provisions of the resolution and how they reflect on the City’s past and project a vision for the City’s future is planned.
