Appointment of a Member of Council to the Douglas MacArthur Elementary School Project Advisory Committee.

ISSUE: City Council representation on the Douglas MacArthur Elementary School Project Advisory Committee.
RECOMMENDATION: That City Council appoint Councilwoman Amy Jackson to the Douglas MacArthur Elementary School Project Advisory Committee (“Committee”).
BACKGROUND: The Alexandria City Public Schools will be engaging in a capital project that will result in a new Douglas MacArthur Elementary School on the existing school site. As the City Council and the School Board desire to fully engage the community and the school stakeholders in the development of the project, a Douglas MacArthur Elementary School Project Advisory Committee will be formed.
Once the composition of the Committee is established later this summer, it will include one member of City Council. Councilwoman Amy Jackson has been discussed as Council’s representation on that Committee.
