Consideration of City Council Schedule.

ISSUE: City Council Schedule.
RECOMMENDATION: That City Council:
1. Receive and approve the revised June 2017 City Council Schedule;
2. Adopt the updated City Council Schedule for July 2017 to June 2018 which includes:
• The Annual Citizenship Day Ceremony, which is scheduled for Tuesday, September 12 at 5:30 p.m. on Market Square;
• The Alexandria Commission on Persons with Disabilities Reception which is scheduled for Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 5 p.m. in the Vola Lawson Lobby; and
• Revised: The First Legislative Meeting in June is proposed for Wednesday, June 13, 2018, since the primary election day is Tuesday, June 12, 2018.
3. Approve the City Council Schedule.
DISCUSSION: The City Council Schedule for FY 2018 has been structured very similar to the current year schedule, including a “Hold” for a potential fourth Council meeting in June 2018, as well as scheduling as to avoid conflict with VML’s Annual Conference, NLC’s Annual Conference, and the Annual U.S. Conference of Mayors annual conference. The annual City Council Retreat to discuss the FY 2019 budget has been included on the calendar for November.
