ISSUE: City Council Schedule
RECOMMENDATION: That City Council:
1. Accept the following changes to the FY 2016 Council Calendar (Attachment 1):
• Annual Citizenship Day is scheduled for Thursday, September 17 at 11 a.m. on Market Square;
• The Art League Opening Reception is scheduled for Tuesday, September 28th at 5:00 p.m. in the Chet & Sabra Avery Conference Room 2000
• The AlexRenew Athletic Multi-purpose Field Dedication is scheduled for Friday, October 23 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 1820 Limerick Street. The dedication ceremony is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 4:10 p.m. AlexRenew has also scheduled a Family FieldFest for Saturday, October 24 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This will open the field up to the community.
DISCUSSION: During the June 10 Legislative Meeting, City Council requested that two adjustments be made to the proposed FY 2016 Council Calendar. The first request was to add the National League of Cities Conference in Nashville, TN scheduled from November 4-7, 2015. The second request was to change the Tuesday, March 22, 2016 Second Legislative meeting to the Tuesday, March 29, 2016.
