ISSUE: Request to vacate a position on the Alexandria Gang Prevention Community Task Force.
RECOMMENDATION: That City Council vacate a position on the Alexandria Gang Prevention Community Task Force for a citizen at-large member due to lack of attendance and request that the Executive Secretary for Boards and Commissions re-advertise the position as a vacancy.
DISCUSSION: Members of boards, commissions, and committees are required to attend at least 75% of the scheduled meetings for the body. Failure to meet the requirement can lead to recommendations to vacate the position and re-advertise it as a vacancy. The staff liaison for the board has requested removal of the member for failure to attend the required amount of meetings. The following member has not attended at least 75% of the meetings since being appointed: Anthony Rivera.
