RECOMMENDATION: That City Council adopt the attached resolution (Attachment 1).
BACKGROUND: Code of Virginia § 22.1-94 authorizes governing bodies to make appropriations to a school board for operation, capital outlay, and debt service in the public schools. FISCAL IMPACT: While City Council intends to appropriate funds for the public schools by the major classifications, this action does not dictate the amount to be appropriated.
