Request to vacate a position on the Alexandria Gang Prevention Community Task Force.

ISSUE: Request to vacate a position on the Alexandria Gang Prevention Community Task Force.
RECOMMENDATION: That City Council vacate a position on the Alexandria Gang Prevention Community Task Force for a member from and representing the Alexandria Interfaith Council due to lack of attendance and request that the Executive Secretary for Boards and Commissions re-advertise the position as a vacancy.
BACKGROUND: Members of boards, commissions and committees are required to attend at least 75% of the scheduled meetings of the body. Failure to meet the requirement can lead to recommendations to vacate the position and readvertise it as a vacancy. The staff liaison for the Task Force has requested removal of the member for failure to attend the required amount of meetings. The following member has not attended at least 75% of the meetings since being appointed: Patrick Barrett.
