ISSUE: Resolution affirming Local Emergency Declaration for Hurricane Sandy.
RECOMMENDATION: That City Council adopt the attached resolution. (attachment 1)
BACKGROUND: As a result of extensive damage and flooding caused by the remnants of Hurricane Sandy, on October 28, 2012, I issued a Local Declaration of Emergency (attachment 2) so that the City was positioned to take advantage of any State or Federal assistance that might become available.
DISCUSSION: State law requires that City Council affirm my Local Emergency Declaration within 14 days. I recommend that Council adopt the resolution.
