ISSUE:  Consideration of a resolution to extend the term of the Subcommittee on Boards & Commissions.

RECOMMENDATION:  That City Council adopt the resolution (Attachment 1) extending the term of the Subcommittee on Boards & Commissions to December 31, 2025.

BACKGROUND:  At the December 10, 2024 Legislative Session, the City Council created three temporary subcommittees including the Subcommittee on Boards & Commissions.  Two members were appointed to the Subcommittee on Boards & Commissions during the City Council’s Special Meeting on January 2, 2025.

The Subcommittee on Boards & Commissions was charged with reviewing the process of creating and structuring existing boards and commissions, while making recommendations on the viability and necessity of all active boards and commissions.  The subcommittee met and reviewed these issues throughout the first half of 2025.  The members presented the subcommittee’s initial findings to the full City Council during the June 24, 2025 Legislative Session and requested additional time to complete their review and to allow for additional public input.
