Consideration of a Resolution to Authorize the City Manager to Accept a Bequest from the  Marilyn Senn Moll Irrevocable Trust.

ISSUE Consideration of a resolution to authorize the City Manager to accept a bequest from the  Marilyn Senn Moll Irrevocable Trust to the Office of Historic Alexandria.

 

RECOMMENDATION:  That City Council approve a resolution authorizing the City Manager to accept a bequest from the Marilyn Senn Moll Irrevocable Trust to the Office of Historic Alexandria.

 

DISCUSSION: The Office of Historic Alexandria is the beneficiary of a bequest from the  Marilyn Senn Moll Irrevocable Trust. The Trust designates the disbursement be used for the Fort Ward Museum and Historic Site.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:  The trust has issued a full distribution of $50,000 for the Fort Ward Museum and Historic Site.  Funds from this bequest will be used to directly support the preservation of the historic fort walls by working with a landscape specialist on erosion control.
